2018 TTT Grant States Increase Again

Eight new states have been awarded TTT grants!

Troops to Teachers (TTT) announces that six (6) more states have been awarded a TTT grant with two (2) consortia of states providing services to a total of eight (8) states. This brings the total number of states offering local TTT grant assistance to 31 states. The 2018 grants received will provide services for a 5 year term ending in May 2023.

The newest states to be awarded a state grant are:

  • Alabama

PROGRAM INFORMATION

TTT is a military transition program within the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES). In conjunction with the Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA), DANTES released a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) on October 19, 2017, under the authorizing statute in 10 USC 1154(h) (2) (A), which permits the Secretary of Defense to make grants to states or consortia of such states in order to support efforts of recruiting eligible current and former members of the armed forces for participation in the Troops to Teachers program and facilitating the employment of participants as elementary school teachers, secondary school teachers, and career or technical teachers.

Registration for the program is free and requires no commitment. Members can register via the program website. The website also offers a list of teaching opportunities available to participants and a calender of events listing recruiting and other types of program events. Headquarters TTT program reps also can be reached by calling 1-800-231-6242 or by emailing ttt@navy.mil.
