Online Learning Prep (DLRSA)
Program Overview
In today's world, we do everything on the computer, so going to college in the comfort of your own space sounds great, right? But are you ready for online classes? Classroom-based and online learning are extremely different. Both have pros and cons; and understanding your level of readiness for each type of learning will help you to ensure successful course completion. The Distance Learning Readiness Self-Assessment (DLRSA) helps prospective military students decide if they're ready for online learning. The short assessment will help you gain insight to prepare for a positive distance learning experience. The DLRSA was developed to help you recognize your skills, spot possible weaknesses, and prepare for the challenges of online education.
Student Benefits
The DLRSA helps you:
- Assess your distance learning issues and goals
- Predict pitfalls before they happen
- Spot weaknesses that may affect course completion
- Make smart decisions to ensure education success

Support Resources
No test can predict success in distance learning courses, but having a clear idea of your circumstances will improve your chances. Being aware of your skills, behavior, and constraints can mean the difference between completing a class and dropping out. By pinpointing your skills and your weak points, the DLRSA lets you play to your strengths and shore up areas that need support.
Your DLRSA results will include ideas for improving your online learning readiness. This advice will help you build the skills you need to succeed in distance learning, such as:
- Strong computer skills
- Internet literacy
- Good study habits
- The ability to set goals
- Self-motivation skills
- Good organizing skills
- Strong work habits
DLRSA results will also pinpoint factors that might increase your chances for online learning success, such as your prior education experience and helpful life circumstances.
